Dear Colleagues,
We would like to cordially invite you to our interdisciplinary scientific and training conference that will be held at the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia between 28th and 30th September 2023.
During this conference, you will have an ample opportunity to not only share your thoughts on interdisciplinary topics, present current problems and challenges, but also create perspectives for the further development of the MUG Faculties: Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine.
We do believe that the multidisciplinary presentation of ongoing scientific projects during the conference will further integrate participants and thus establish productive collaboration between research groups and clinics, leading to the expansion of both national and international partnerships.
The conference will also provide an excellent opportunity for Young Scientists, PhD students, and members of scientific circles in Poland as well as in other countries to share their research interests.

III Scientific Conference “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Health Sciences” in memory of Professor Piotr Lass
Dear Participants,
The III Scientific Conference “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Health Sciences” in memory of Professor Piotr Lass will be held on 28th-30th September 2023. Professor Piotr Lass, who passed away in 2021, was an outstanding specialist in nuclear medicine. He created the Faculty of Health Sciences with the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine of MUG and served as its Vice-Dean and Dean for 16 years. The main idea of the conference – “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Health Sciences” in memory of Professor Piotr Lass – is to bring together scientists of different specialties in the health sciences and establish an interdisciplinary collaboration concerning the holistic view of health issues. The multidisciplinary approach of the conference will allow for the exchange of experiences and sharing of research results by the key scientists of a given discipline. Moreover, such an approach will create a great opportunity for the establishment of novel collaborations between scientists working in various fields of specific narrow research paths, leading to the multithreaded concepts of health research that can result in innovative findings and implementations. Thus, the comprehensive program of the conference will enable the participants not only to expand their knowledge in the field of health issues, but also to broaden their methodological skills. The comprehensive, interdisciplinary, and international program of the conference will encourage participants to integrate and combine their research interests at multiple levels.

XXVII Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Gdańsk
Dear Colleagues,
This is the 27th time we are organizing the Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Medical University of Gdańsk. The high scientific level of our research has twice provided our Faculty with the A+ category in the evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education; and has also contributed to the receiving the title of a Research University by the Medical University of Gdańsk – as the only one with such an honorable designation among medical universities in Poland.
In the past, the conference was primarily aimed at both integration between employees and PhD students of our Faculty and sharing the undertaken research topics. Undoubtedly, an important aspect contributing to the high scientific potential of our Faculty is the opportunity to exchange experience, dissemination, and commercialization of research results. Thus, the XXVII conference provides an excellent opportunity to achieve such goals.
However, maintaining a high scientific level of ongoing research is not possible without broad interdisciplinarity. Understanding these needs, as part of the XXVII conference, we have invited outstanding Young Scientists from other Faculties of our University to present their research topics. The XXVII conference of the Faculty of Pharmacy is held as part of the International Interdisciplinary Scientific and Training MUG Conference and organized in collaboration with the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine. During the conference, we would like to share with you the results of our research work and learn about your scientific interests, which will undoubtedly allow us to build new multidirectional relationships and collaborations. We cordially invite you to join this event, which will be both an excellent opportunity to celebrate scientific successes and a real source of inspiration.

V Congress of Maritime, Tropical and Travel Medicine – Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to invite you to Gdynia for the V Congress organized by the Institute of Maritime and Tropical Medicine, the University Center for Maritime and Tropical Medicine of the Medical University of Gdańsk, and the Polish Society of Maritime, Tropical and Travel Medicine. The main topics of the conference such as marine, tropical, and sports medicine will be presented in the form of lectures, whereas the topics related to travel medicine will be conducted in the form of workshops. We hope that the participation of experienced specialists in the Congress will guarantee a high level of transmitted knowledge in the field of diagnosis, treatment and prevention, and will also allow getting acquainted with the results of scientific research. We expect that the program of the Congress will meet your expectations and contribute to the expansion of knowledge in these unique medical specialties.

Competition
Regulations of the competition for the best poster and the best scientific report presented during the Young Scientists sessions at the International Interdisciplinary Scientific and Training MUG Conference
1. Target group
The competition is addressed to Young Scientists: PhD students, students, and members of the Scientific Circles who are taking an active part in the International Interdisciplinary Scientific and Training MUG Conference, hereafter referred to as the Conference.
2. The aims of the competition
· to popularize the results of scientific research related to the interdisciplinary aspects of health sciences and consistent with the interest of Young Scientists as members of research teams;
· inspiring scientific activities and scientific discussions;
· increasing presentation skills in academic forums.
3. Rules of participation
The competition consists of three stages, which include: the acceptance of applications, the presentation at the Young Scientists Session, and the formal announcement of the winners together with the awarding of diplomas and prizes at the Final Gala.
4. Organization and the subject of the competition
The following competition categories are envisaged:
· PhD students;
· Students;
· Scientific Circles.
The subjects of the competition are:
· a scientific report presented at the Young Scientist Session at the Conference by a PhD student or by a Student who is the sole author or first co-author or a representative of the Scientific Circle;
· a poster presented during the Poster Session, in which sole author or first co-author is a Young Scientist.
5. Final results and awards
· the scientific reports and posters will be evaluated by the Competition Committee, appointed by the Conference Organizing Committee, on a point scale during the secret ballot – the highest number of points decides. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places in each competition category are expected to be awarded;
· winners of the competitions in the three categories will be selected at the Final Gala of the Conference;
· winners will receive diplomas and in-kind prizes.
6. Formal requirements
· the oral presentation of a scientific report during the Young Scientists Session at the Conference should be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint or Open Office Impress, and its duration should not exceed 7 minutes;
· the poster should include the title, and information about the authors (affiliations), especially about the Young Scientist. The poster should be prepared in pdf or pptx format with a maximum resolution of 1080×1920 pixels;
· the place for displaying the posters: the room designated for displaying the posters in electronic version and the website: icgumed@mimesis.com.pl.
7. Final provisions
The organizers reserve the right to develop and publish the results of the competition.
Participation in the competition involves consent to the processing of personal data to the extent necessary.
